These homeowners in Billerica, MA love the home that they live in, but wanted a better flow between the family room addition and the dining room. They were willing to give up having a table in the kitchen in order to open up the dining room entry to marry it into the space.

In addition to wanting peninsula seating for their twin boys, the husband really wished for a better view of the current sink area, as it’s the first thing he sees when he walks through the front door. Additionally, the wife is a great cook and family lives nearby, so they often become the hosts of family gatherings. Adding a gas cooktop & wall oven combo with warming drawer were high on her list.

The tricky part was blending the Mrs.’ “Antique White” paint choice with the Mr.’s dark “Candlelight” finish that he preferred. We chose Brookhaven frameless cabinets and combined both finishes in the room. We also added wall cabinets below the new window for added storage and a convenient beverage refrigerator to help while entertaining. The shift in depth makes the cabinets flow between the space and the Candlelight finish is complementary to the wall oven and pantry.

Our happy homeowners boast that their kitchen has been “transformed” and they can’t wait to share it with family and friends. This is truly a house where they will live happily ever after!
