Amazing Worcester, MA Kitchen Transformation

This Worcester project began due to an upstairs bathroom leak into the kitchen below. The dropped ceiling was removed and replaced, a start to updating the space.

The customer’s home is nearly 100 years old. A wall radiator was moved, allowing the gas range to reposition, creating a cabinet “landing space” on both sides with more storage. The range originally sat all by itself on a wall morphed from counters. The soffits were also removed to heighten the wall cabinets, adding even more storage.

The front hall single entry door was removed, and an arch was created to mimic other openings throughout the house. The dining/kitchen wall was enlarged, also with an archway to bring the two rooms together. The customer said she “loves the way it looks” as it creates a flow to the dining room. Outlets were added around the room, dimmers and under cabinets LED lights enhance the kitchen. A new garbage disposal was added as well as a chimney hood, which is vented to the outside, removing cooking contaminants, both were much needed updates. The side upper and lower cabinets at reduced depth also add extra storage.

Overall, the customer’s “fav” is the blue green backsplash tile, which makes the room pop and is also a lighter version of the dining room wall color. Although house prices are at an all-time high and the kitchen has added great value to the home, they wouldn’t think of moving anywhere else.
