Dressing Up a Dull Fireplace in Natick, MA
This couple loves their long-time home and convenient Natick location. What they didn’t love was the dated kitchen and fireplace area, which was part of a previous add-on to the home. They wanted to update the cabinets, add some seating and somehow avoid or incorporate the 8” step down into the fireplace add-on room.
We designed a peninsula that provides extra seating and also houses a convenient double trash cabinet. The cook can keep her guests comfortably at bay while preparing meals. We suggested adding cabinets around the fireplace for added storage and to tie the two spaces together. The glass doors on the wall cabinets dress up the room and allows for decorative dish ware to be displayed.
We removed the old wood paneling that had been painted over and added a new ceiling and recessed lights. The homeowners are very proud of their new space that now has a much more bright and updated feel.
